미국 옷 브랜드중 상당히 큰회사인 J Crew란 회사에서 일본을 돕자는 취지에서 티셔츠를 만들어서 팔려고 합니다. 문제는 이 티셔츠에 나온 지명표시인데요
'Sea of East' 대신 'Sea of Japan'이라고 성인 및 아동용 티셔츠에 표기가 되어팔려나가려 하고 있습니다.
만약 이 티셔츠가 팔려나가게 된다면 상당한 문제가 일어나겠죠. 여러나라 사람들이 살아가는 미국에서 미래를 이끌 아이들이 이런식으로 알아버린다면 정말로 큰 문제입니다.

Your "Women's Japan Love tee and Children's Japan Love tea"," item 52460 and 52511 , incorrectly labels the East Sea as the "Sea of Japan." This name originates from the period of Japanese imperialism and the brutal Japanese occupation of Korea from 1905-1945. It is part and parcel of the legacy of this time, which includes genocide, atrocities, slave labor, and the exploitation of tens of thousands of Korean and Chinese women as sex-slaves - the "comfort women" - by the Japanese. The United Nations has recognized that this body of water should be referred to as the "East Sea/Sea of Japan." Please change the name on this tee shirt to a less offensive and inaccurate name. Pending this change, we will be joining a boycott of all j.crew products. The attached link contains information pertaining to this issue.

P.S. 티셔츠 이미지는 www.jcrew.com 에서 'love japan'의 키워드로 검색하시면 나옵니다
허나, 티에 새겨져 있는 일본해 라는 문구를를 동해로 바꾸어도 비극적인 상황을 겪고있는 일본을 돕는 것에는 아무런 문제가 없다.
어차피 너희는 그 티를 판매한 돈으로 일본을 도울 것이기 때문이다.
그렇지 않은가?
게다가, 어려운 상황에 처해있는 일본을 돕는것과 지도상의 오기를 바로잡는것은 별개라고 생각하고 동시에 중요한 일이라고 생각한다.
라고 답변하면 될 것 같은데.....
천성이 게을러서..... 게다가 유창하지 않은 영어로... ^^;

intention in designing this tee was to offer support to Japan during
their time of need. Our designers worked off of several current maps in
developing the illustration featured on the shirt. Again, it's important
to know we created this tee to provide some much needed support to a
country in a time of incredible need after the recent devastation of the
