The ability/inability to filtrate its own pore water upon exit from the grout probe which in turn allows the grout's rheological factors to work (or not work) as additional grout continues lobe injected.
Early papers written on compaction grouting material sieve analysis had a rather narrow band width with 100% passing the 4.76mm(#4 sieve) (Warner 1974). Second generation pumping equipment has allowed material sieve limits to be opened up considerably (FIG. 4) which ultimately proved two things;
• The original 0.074mm (#200) mix designs were limited by the pumping equipment of that time.
• The current recommended material band width on the coarse particle fraction is only limited by the size of today's delivery system, typically 50mm lines (2 inch).
